Mr. Mitchell is a director of Special Value Opportunities Fund LLC, a $1.5 billion registered investment fund managed by Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC, Santa Monica; First Chicago Bancorp, a $1.1 billion bank holding company and portfolio company of the private equity firm Castle Creek Capital; and Reis, Inc.(NASDAQ: REIS), a New York based real estate information company. He chairs the Audit Committees of all three firms and is a member of other committees including Transaction, Compensation, Nominating and Corporate Governance and Risk committees. He is formerly a director of Hanmi Financial Corporation, a $4 billion Los Angeles bank holding company. 

 

Mr. Mitchell retired from Deloitte in 2003 as the National Managing Partner of the Mortgage Banking and Finance Companies practice. During his 26- year career at Deloitte he also served as Regional Managing Partner for various practices including audit, enterprise risk services, and financial services. In addition, he served as an Accounting Fellow to the Federal Home Loan Bank Board in Washington, D.C. from 1985 to 1987.

 

Mr. Mitchell serves as an adjunct professor of accounting at the University of Redlands and is the Chapter President of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Southern California. Mr. Mitchell is a graduate of the University of Alabama.
